Setting the parameters for the M690 Controller is easy. Each of the parameters is explained below. For more information on a parameter, just click on it.
Equilibration time: The preset time between boil-up and collection of the first fraction when the distillation system is in total reflux.
Start up heating rate: the amount of heat applied to the pot flask (boiler) at the beginning of the distillation process.
Open Cut 1(Fraction): the temperature at which cut 1(fraction) will begin to be collected
Close Cut 1(Fraction): the Close Cut is the temperature at which cut 1(fraction) will stop being collected.
Reflux ratio 1: ratio between the boil up rate and the take-off rate during cut 1(fraction).
Heating rate 1: the amount of heat applied to the pot flask (boiler) during cut 1(fraction).
Automatic Shutdown Temperature: the maximum allowable temperature for the pot flask (boiler). Above this temperature the distillation will be automatically discontinued.
The M690 microprocessor allows all of these parameters to be set and saved in advance. Up to 15 solvent recycling protocols can be stored. These parameters can be modified during the distillation.
